What's New with SISO...
SISO, City of Boise, and Idaho State Parks Conclude Another Successful Sailing Camp Season
In spite of low snowpacks, wildfires, and air quality concerns, we completed a very successful summer of youth sailing camps in 2026. There were four beginner classes, one girls only class, two intermediate, and one advanced/racing class. We served 67 kids and families in total. One of our beginner camps was cancelled due to unhealthy air quality, but that camp would have served an additional 10 kids/families. We have a staff of ten instructors and assistants who logged 870+ hours and 6 volunteers logging over 300 hours during the summer. Many thanks to everyone for their support of this program!

Instructor and Volunteer Opportunities
We are actively recruiting additional instructors (a paid position with the City of Boise) and volunteers to join our team. If you're passionate about sailing and teaching, certification scholarships are available to help new instructors get started. Sailing Education
We are dedicated to giving Treasure Valley kids the opportunity to discover sailing and develop the next generation of sailors. Sailing is a sport that fosters a sense of self-reliance and curiosity, builds decision-making and critical thinking skills, develops confidence and a sense of adventure. With SISO, it all happens under the watchful eye of certified instructors in a fun and safe teaching atmosphere.

Founded in 2017, Southern Idaho Sailing Outreach is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization incorporated in the State of Idaho. We are bringing the magic of the sailing experience to the kids of Southern Idaho with the generous support of individual donors, local businesses, grants, community partnerships, the Southern Idaho Sailing Association, volunteers, and parents.
